I am in shock. They finished!!!!! The walk through went wonderfully!
We had some punch list items but not as many as I had expected. There
are a few things that need to be done in terms of drywall dings, floor
dings, etc. I am having the railing put on the porch next week. It
wasn't required by code but I think it adds a nice touch to the porch.
Appliances look great and we now have a yard! I am amazed at how big it
turned out! With the Rome being a more vertical home it leaves more
yard on the lot. Perfect for us as we plan to install a deck and patio
underneath later next year! Closing is tomorrow!

Last Full Week!
June 15th, 2015
Still so much that needs to be done. Flooring should be going in this week as well. Next week is our walk through before closing so this is going to be quite a last minute push if we are to close on time. The yard is scheduled for next Monday and Tuesday, stone for Monday and cleaning next Tuesday and Wednesday. We rescheduled our new home orientation from Wednesday to Thursday to give them a bit ore time for last minute punch list items. Coming down to the wire!

Basement Flooding!
June 11th, 2015
We have had some insane rain over the last few weeks and of course what shows up? A giant puddle of water in the basement. The trim down there had not yet gone in so no flooring or trim work was damaged. We were of course very concerned about drywall damage and the potential for mold. The PM had his boss come in, along with ServPro and dry out the basement. Damage was assessed and the source of the leaks was now the focus. The seals were all checked and it was determined that because power had not yet been turned on and the sump not on the water overflowed the sump. They have gotten power to the sump and it is now in working order. I have run over a few other days after heavy down pours and the basement was dry. Yay! This gives us an indication that a back up generator in the event of an outage is a must. There is obviously the potential for flooding with out it.

Driveway, New Siding, Bathroom Floors and Granite!
June 10th, 2015
Been an exciting few days! They are still a little behind with no stone work and no yard work being done but I guess some progress is still progress. We now have granite, first coat of paint and siding is finally going up! Stone is still not delivered and we have no eta at this point. The stonework takes several days so we will have to see what actually happens. Been in touch with my PM daily about timeline and what he thinks. I would love to close in July just because we get an extra month of mortgage delay but not sure what will happen at this point. Just glad to see progression!

Trim and Cabinets!
June 1st, 2015
We finally have trim and cabinets! I was so excited to see some movement this week and what the kitchen might look like finished! We only have a few weeks left until closing so I am a bit nervous about our timeline for completion. They still have quite a bit to do and not much time. The siding is still not up and the stone is on back order of course. We got out closing information and should have our new home orientation on the 24th and closing on the 26th. If they can get some things done this week we should still be okay!
